The third ODI was to be played here on the Indian Women’s Team tour Australia next year at the Junction Oval in Melbourne.

The third ODI to be played during the Indian women’s cricket team’s tour of Australia next year next year will now be held in Hobart instead of Junction Oval in Melbourne. Cricket Australia has taken this decision due to delay in installing floodlights in the stadium.

The last match of the three ODI series between the women’s teams of India and Australia was to be held in Melbourne on 1 March. The match would be the first international match played under Junction Oval’s floodlights.

Australia tour program

The Indian women’s team will visit Australia in February-March next year. During this time the team will play three T20s, three ODIs and one Test.

T20 Series: The first match will be played on 15 February, second on 19 February and third on 21 February.

ODI Series: The first match was to be held on 24 February in Brisbane, the second match in Hobart on 27 February and the third match on 1 March, which has now been transferred to Hobart.

Test match: The only Test will be played from 6 March.

Cricket Australia’s statement

Cricket Australia (CA) cricket operations and schedueling chief Peter Roach said, “We are disappointed to transfer the match from Junction Oval and no women’s international match in Melbourne this season.” We were hoping that the floodlights at Junction Oval would be held on time and the first international day-night match would be held there.

Impact on Big Bash League The Junction Oval will host the matches of the Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegade of the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL), but all these matches will be played in the day. Apart from this, other domestic cricket matches will also be there according to the schedule.
