Rituraj missed the Gaikwad West Zone on a double shock.
Both the semi -finals of the Dalip Trophy started on Thursday. Both matches are being held on the BCCI’s Center of Excellence grounds in Bengaluru. The first session of the second day continues.
On the first day of the match, South Zone scored 297 runs against North Zone losing 3 wickets. At the same time, West Zone lost 6 wickets for 363 runs against the Central Zone.
Semifinal-1: North Zone vs South Zone
North Zone chose fielding in Ground-A. Tanmay Aggarwal and Narayan Jagadisin took a century opening partnership from South Zone. Tanmay was dismissed for 43 runs. After him, Devdutt Padikkal imposed a fifty and the team’s score was taken beyond 200. Mohit Kale returned to the pavilion after scoring just 15 runs.
Jagadisin stayed till the end of the day’s play, he has scored 148 runs. Captain Mohammad Azharuddin returned not out after scoring 11 runs with him. Nishant Sindhu took 2 wickets from North Zone. Anshul Kamboj got 1 wicket.
Narayan Jagadisin returned unbeaten after scoring 152 runs.
Semifinal-2: West Zone vs Central Zone
In Ground B, West Zone won the toss and chose batting. Team openers Yashasvi Jaiswal were dismissed for 4 and wicketkeeper Harvik Desai for just 1 run. Arya Desai, who landed on number-3, again scored 39 runs and brought the team close to 100 runs.
Gaikwad missed by applying double century Rituraj Gaikwad, who landed on number-4, then took over an end. In front of him, Shreyas Iyer was dismissed for 25 and Shams Mulani 18 runs. Gaikwad then took the innings with Tanush Kotian and took the team beyond 300. Gaikwad was dismissed for 184 runs.
By the end of the day’s play, the team scored 363 runs at the loss of 6 wickets. Kotian 65 and captain Shardul Thakur returned not out after scoring 24 runs. Khalil Ahmed and Summary Jain took 2–2 wickets from the Central Zone. Deepak Chahar and Harsh Dubey got 1-1 wickets.
Rituraj Gaikwad was dismissed for 184 runs.
