On 7 August 2024, India played the last match of the 3 -match ODI series against Sri Lanka.
India and Sri Lankan teams can play a series of 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches next month. Although the series is not part of the ICC’s Future Tour Program (FTP), both teams currently have an empty window.
India was to visit Bangladesh in August, where 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches were to be played. But due to the political situation in Bangladesh, the tour has now been postponed till September 2026. On the other hand, the Sri Lanka Premier League (LPL), which was going to be held in July-August, has also been postponed. Due to this, the Sri Lankan Cricket Board (SLC) has also left free time.
BCCI-Slc interacting among themselves According to Sri Lanka’s local media Newswire, talks are currently going on between BCCI and SLC. Both boards are trying to set dates for the bilateral series of 3 ODIs and 3 T20 matches.
Sri Lanka is hosting Bangladesh Currently, Sri Lanka is hosting Bangladesh on its domestic land. Sri Lanka won the three ODI series 2–1. Now the series of three T20 matches between the two teams will start from July 10 and will end on 16 July.
After this, Sri Lanka has no international match till the last week of August. After this, the team will visit Zimbabwe, where two ODIs and three T20 matches are to be played.
In the third ODI, Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by 99 runs.
India on tour to England till 4 August On the other hand, the Indian team is currently playing a 5 -Test series in England, which will end on August 4. After this, Team India’s next big tournament is the Asia Cup, but before that no series is fixed. If the conversation between India and Sri Lanka is successful, then the Indian team can visit Sri Lanka in August.
Last year, there was a series of (ODI and T20) between India and Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka defeated India in ODIs. While India won in the T20 series.
India’s visit to Bangladesh postponed
India’s Bangladesh tour was postponed for one year on 5 June. According to BCCI, Team India will now visit Bangladesh in September next year instead of August 2025.
BCCI did not explain the reasons for re-schedules. It is believed that this decision was taken due to deteriorating relations and security between India and Bangladesh in the recent past. India is going to play 3 ODIs and 3 T20s going to Bangladesh next year. Read full news …
