You are a waste of time and resources. Be a burden on society. You are a burden on the earth. You are a stain on this universe. Please die. Please die.
Google AI said these words to a student. Actually, 29 year old graduate student Vidhya Reddy was asking some questions and answers from Google Gemini. Vidhya Reddy is a graduate from Michigan University, USA. He was discussing aging and other similar topics. The conversation had started normally but no one knows why suddenly the AI started giving such scary answers.
On this, Vidhya said, ‘AI’s statements were quite direct. This kept me scared the whole day.
When all this happened, Vidhya’s sister Sumedha Reddy was also in the same room. Sumedha said, ‘I felt like throwing all the machines in the house out of the window. This was not a glitch. It was quite wicked.
Google apologized
In this case, Google said that their chatbots have safety filters that block content that spreads hate and violence. However, Gemini AI’s response violated the chatbot’s policy.
Google said that systems like Gemini can sometimes give non-sensical i.e. nonsensical and harmful output. Necessary steps have been taken to ensure that this does not happen again.
Google has also apologized for this. The company admitted that Gemini had many shortcomings. Especially this chatbot is not able to handle sensitive issues related to current events and politics properly.
The use of AI tools like Gemini, ChatGPT has increased today because they make many types of tasks easier. But such incidents also create fear in the minds of people. Most AI companies admit that their models are not foolproof.
