The Bangalore branch of One8 was launched in December 2023.
A case has been registered against cricketer Virat Kohli’s One 8 Commune Pub and Restaurant in Bengaluru. The Kabban Park Police, due to lack of smoking zone in the pub, took self -cognizance and took action on Tuesday. Virat’s One 8 Commune is located on Pub MG Road.
According to the police, the rules of CITPA Act (Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act) were being violated in the pub. A case has been registered under sections 4 and 21 of the Act. Under this, it is necessary to create separate smoking zones in public places like a hotel, restaurant, airport.
Virat Kohli’s One8 Commune also has branches in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune and Kolkata. The branch of Bengaluru was opened in December 2023, on the sixth floor of the Ratnam complex. Virat said in an interview that Bengaluru is his favorite city. So he chose Bengaluru for the branch.
FIR was done on keeping the pub open till late night last year In July 2024, an FIR was lodged in One 8 Commune Pub for playing music in loud voice till late night.
DGP Central said that on the night of July 6, the team of Kabban Park Police Station had gone out on patrolling. Then the One8 was found open till 1.30 pm. The manager of the pub was opened in the wrong way. There is permission to open the pub till 1 pm in Bengaluru. Therefore action was taken against the pub.
