The last 2 quarter-final matches in Vijay Hazare Trophy were played on Sunday. Vidarbha made it to the semi-finals on the basis of captain Karun Nair’s fourth consecutive century and Dhruv Shorey’s century. On the other hand, Haryana defeated Gujarat by 2 wickets in a close match.
The semi-finals will be played on January 15 and 16 in Vadodara. Haryana will face Karnataka and Vidarbha will face Maharashtra. The final of the tournament will be played on January 18.
Quarter Final 1: Gujarat vs Haryana Haryana won the toss and chose bowling at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. Gujarat got a good start, Urvil Patel and Arya Desai did not allow any wicket to fall for 7 overs. In the 8th over, both were out after scoring 23-23 runs.
Gujarat started disintegrating after the first 2 wickets. The team lost 8 wickets for 137 runs. In the end, Saurav Chauhan scored 23 runs and Hemang Patel scored 54 runs to take the team to 196 runs. Anuj Thakral and Nishant Sindhu took 3 wickets each from Haryana. Anshul Kamboj got 2 wickets and Parth Vats got 1 wicket.

Haryana fell apart after a good start Against the target of 197 runs, Haryana lost only 3 wickets for 173 runs. Arsh Ranga was out after scoring 25 runs, Himanshu Rana 66 and Ankit Kumar was out after scoring 20 runs. Quarter Final 2: Rajasthan vs Vidarbha Vidarbha won the toss and chose bowling at Motibagh Stadium. Rajasthan lost 2 wickets for 19 runs only. Both the openers were out after scoring 6-6 runs. Captain Mahipal Lomror scored 32, Deepak Hooda 45, Shubham Garhwal 59 and Karthik Sharma scored 62 runs.
In the end, Devradt Joshi scored 23 runs and Deepak Chahar scored 31 runs, taking the team’s score to 291 runs. Yash Thakur took 4 wickets from Vidarbha. Darshan Nalkande, Nachiket Bhute and Harsh Dubey got 1 success each.
Yash Thakur did not allow Rajasthan to cross 300 by taking 4 wickets.
Vidarbha won by 9 wickets Vidarbha got an excellent start in front of the target of 292 runs. Yash Rathod and Dhruv Shorey made an opening partnership of 92 runs. Yash was out after scoring 39 runs. After him, Shorey along with captain Karun Nair did not allow any more wicket to fall and gave the team victory in the 44th over. Dhruv scored 118 and Karun scored 122 runs. Kukna Ajay Singh from Rajasthan took the only wicket.
