14 -year -old Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored a century against Gujarat Titans at 35 balls. He hit 7 fours and 11 sixes in a 38 ball innings. His innings is the result of many years of hard work. He used to play 400 to 450 shots every day to perfect his shot.
On Vaibhav’s batting, his coach Manish Ojha says that he does not seem to have a lack of experience after seeing his bat flow. He played every bowler better against Gujarat and hit fours and sixes. It was not sudden, it has been worked on for years. Their bat lift is quite high and downsing is quite long. Many things including back lift, back foot and mind set have been worked for many years.
Manish interacted with Bhaskar on Vaibhav’s struggle, practice and early days of career
Playing attacking for Vaibhav is not new. He plays attacking from the beginning. You must have seen from the first match that they play with this approach.
Before the match, the coach had said more time to stay at the crease Before the match against Gujarat, Vaibhav spoke to coach Manish Ojha. The coach had told Vaibhav- to stay at the crease as much as possible. If you live in the ground for 40 balls, you will transform your game. You will be able to give your performance when you get more time. Vaibhav was dismissed for 16 runs in the last match.
On the question of Edge Fradu, he said- Stop questioning Age On the question related to Edge Frad, Vaibhav’s coach said that stop raising questions about his age. They are assets of the country. It is our responsibility to handle it. He has received a clin cheat from BCCI. The board gave him a chance to play in the age group.
BCCI is such a big institution, if it remains wrong, it does not get a chance to play. He has given all the documents proofs. Not only this, his born test has also been done. Clearance has also been received from there. Everyone has freedom in India to question. Now you will not give proof to everyone. I would also like to say to Vaibhav to focus on his game. Do not pay attention to all these things.

In such a situation, what we used to do in practice, he used to get it done in Samastipur on the day of holiday. He has taken wickets near the house. Sometimes he used to visit the local cricket academy in Samastipur.

Father made cricketer by taking loan
Vaibhav’s father Sanjeev Suryavanshi and mother Aarti Suryavanshi.
The coaches say that Vaibhav and his father were very clear about their career that he had to move forward in cricket. Vaibhav’s father Sanjeev Suryavanshi himself played cricket, but could not proceed due to lack of facilities. Then saw his incomplete dream being fulfilled in the younger son. So left no stone unturned to make Vaibhav a cricketer. For this, he had to take a loan several times. He first trained Vaibhav at the academy of Samastipur. Then brought me to me, then Vaibhav must have been eight and a half years old.
His mother Aarti quickly got up and prepared breakfast for Vaibhav. Vaibhav himself told after the match that she used to sleep at 11 pm and got up after three hours, as I had to leave for practice at 4 am.
