1. PM Modi inaugurated Z Mod Tunnel
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the ‘Z Mode Sonamarg Tunnel’ in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir on January 13. Sonamarg Tunnel: This tunnel is built at a height of 2600 meters i.e. 8652 feet above sea level.
Due to snowfall, Srinagar to Sonmarg highway remained closed for 6 months. With the construction of the tunnel, people will get all-weather connectivity.
The 6.4 km long double lane Sonamarg Tunnel built on Srinagar-Leh Highway NH-1 will connect Srinagar to Sonamarg.
2. ‘Maha Kumbh 2025’ started from today
The world’s largest spiritual and cultural gathering ‘Maha Kumbh 2025’ started today i.e. from January 13. This year Mahakumbh is being organized in Prayagraj from 13 January to 26 February.
Mahakumbh 2025 started with Amrit Snan in Prayagraj on the occasion of Paush Purnima.

Rajasthan Public Service Commission i.e. RPSC has announced the recruitment of Assistant Professor for more than 500 posts. Candidates can apply online by visiting the official website of RPSC, rpsc.rajasthan.gov.in.
This vacancy is for 30 different subjects in Rajasthan College Education. Candidates will have to apply separately for each subject.

1. In Dhanbad, the principal sent girl students home without shirts.
A school principal from Dhanbad made 80 class 10 girls take off their shirts in school and sent them home without shirts.
Actually, after the exam, these girls were celebrating ‘Pen Day’ by writing messages on each other’s shirts. The principal did not like this and as punishment he made the girls take off their shirts. After this the girls had to go home in blazers. Many parents have filed a complaint against the principal regarding the matter.
School principal Devashree has denied all the allegations against her.
2. Made Dalit girl students clean toilets in Tamil Nadu
A video surfaced from a school in Palakodu, Tamil Nadu, in which girl students in school uniform are seen cleaning the washroom. It is being claimed that all the cleaning students belong to the Dalit community.
Parents of the children told that along with cleaning the bathrooms, the children are also made to fetch water and clean the campus. On receiving the information, the District Education Officer dismissed the school principal.
3. All UGC NET admit cards released
NTA has released the admit cards for all the exams of UGC NET December 2024 session. Candidates can download the admit card from ugcnet.nta.ac.in. These exams have started from January 3 and will continue till January 16.
