1. Gujarati handicraft ‘Gharchola’ gets GI tag
On November 29, Gujarat’s cultural handicraft heritage ‘Gharchola’ received ‘Geographical Indication i.e. GI Tag’ from the Government of India. This is the 23rd GI tag received by Gujarat in the handicraft sector. With this, the total number of GI tags received by Gujarat has increased to 27.
Gharchola means clothes worn at home. Here house means the bride’s new house and the robe that she wears when she enters that house.
Gharchola saree is a very special part of Gujarati weddings. It is made from cotton or silk. Zari work is done on it and motifs of peacock, lotus, flowers and leaves are made on it.
‘Gharchola Handicrafts’ of Gujarat was awarded the Geographical Indication (GI) tag by Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh during the ‘GI & Beyond – From Heritage to Development’ program organized in New Delhi.
2. BCCI launches new ODI jersey of Team India
BCCI launched the new ODI jersey of Team India on 29 November. This jersey is made by the famous German sportswear company Adidas. The blue color of this jersey is slightly lighter than the previous jersey but it has been given a darker color on the sides. This time the three Adidas stripes on the shoulder have been given the shade of the tricolor.
The Indian men’s team will first be seen in this jersey against England in January 2025.

1. Haryana Board Exam Date Released
Haryana Board of School Education (HBSE) has released the date sheet for class 10th and 12th board exams for the education session 2024-25 on November 29, 2024.
Class 12th examinations will start from February 26, 2025. Whereas the 10th class examination will start from February 27, 2025.
2. Placement Drive in DU on 4th and 5th December
Placement and internship drive is being organized in Delhi University on 4th and 5th December. It is being organized by the Central Placement Cell under the Dean of Students Welfare. Students enrolled in any UG or PG program of Delhi University can get placement or internship through this drive.
3. Teacher beaten with slippers for sending obscene messages
In UP, a teacher of a government school in Hamirpur district was beaten severely by the family members of a girl student. Actually, a teacher named Mukesh Chaurasia used to send obscene messages to a class 9 student studying in his school. The student told this to her family. After this, the student reached the school with her family and beat the teacher fiercely with slippers. Police have currently registered an FIR against the teacher.
