1. PM Modi inaugurates 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas
Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally inaugurated the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar, Odisha today, January 9. The theme of the 3-day Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Conference jointly organized by the Ministry of External Affairs and the Government of Odisha is ‘Contribution of Overseas Indians to the Concept of Developed India’.
Representatives from 70 countries have participated in this program.
2. Famous filmmaker Pritish Nandy passed away
Famous filmmaker and journalist Pritish Nandy died of a heart attack on January 8. He had produced 24 films like ‘Chameli’, ‘Sur’ and ‘Hazaron Khwaishein Aisi’. He was the editor of ‘The Illustrated Weekly of India’.
Nandi was 73 years old and was suffering from pancreatic cancer.

1. Recruitment for 2600 posts in Rajasthan, age limit 40 years
Rajasthan Staff Selection Board has announced recruitment for the posts of Account Assistant and Junior Technical Assistant (JTA). Candidates can apply by logging in to the official website of RSSB rssb.rajasthan.gov.in or SSO portal sso.rajasthan.gov.in.
Out of these posts, 2337 posts are reserved for non-scheduled area and 263 posts are reserved for scheduled area. Recruitment will be done on contract basis. Junior Technical Assistant exam will be held on 15th May. The examination for the posts of Account Assistant will be held on June 16.
Educational Qualification:
Junior Technical Assistant:
- BE/B.Tech/Diploma in Agricultural Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
Account Assistant:
- Graduation degree in any stream.
- Candidates must have obtained O Level (Basic) Computer Certificate.
Age Limit:
- Minimum: 21 years
- Maximum: 40 years
- Candidates coming from reserved category will be given relaxation in upper age as per rules.
- Age will be calculated keeping in mind the date of 1st January 2026.
2. Recruitment for 660 posts of Anganwadi Supervisor in MP.
Madhya Pradesh Staff Selection Board has announced recruitment for more than 600 posts of supervisor in MP Anganwadi under MP Women and Child Development Department. Candidates can apply by visiting the official website esb.mp.gov.in.
The date of correction in the application form has been fixed from January 9 to January 28. The examination for this recruitment has been fixed for 28th February.
Educational Qualification:
- Must have passed 12th from Madhya Pradesh Secondary Education Board.
- Must have 5 years of experience of working as Anganwadi worker in Madhya Pradesh.
Age Limit:
- Minimum: 18 years
- Maximum: 40 years

1. MP student commits suicide in Kota
A 19 year old student doing coaching in Kota committed suicide. Abhishek Lodha, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, also wrote a suicide note apologizing to his family. It is written in it – I could not study, grandparents, father, please forgive me.
Abhishek was preparing for JEE Advanced in Kota. Earlier on January 7, a JEE aspirant from Haryana had hanged himself in his hostel.
2. BPSC released the answer key of 70th CCE exam
BPSC has released the answer key of 70th CCE exam 2024. Candidates who have given the exam can check the answer key on bpsc.bih.nic.in. Candidates can also challenge the answers till 16th January. However, candidates are still protesting in Bihar demanding cancellation of this examination and re-exam.
