The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a 3-year discount in the age limit for recruitment to Sub-Inspector and equivalent posts. Due to this, about 5 lakh youths who have been oversed for police recruitment will get relief.
This exemption will be given for direct recruitment to 4543 vacant posts from 2020-21 to 2024-25. The state is also to release notifications for the recruitment of SI and other posts. It has been clarified in the instructions that this is just one time reminade, that is, there is a discount given only once.
On May 23, Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and demanded exemption in age limit in the interest of youth. He told CM Yogi that due to Korona epidemic and other circumstances, the youth who have gone out, should be given special discounts in the age limit once.
This decision has come after the instructions of CM Yogi. This exemption will be applicable for all categories of candidates. Due to this, the number of candidates may also increase in the recruitment process.
December Exemption was also given in 2023
Earlier, in December 2023, the age limit for soldier recruitment was given 3 years exemption. Candidates said that there has not been a vacancy for 5 years. In such a situation, they were oversight as soon as they continued to prepare.
The opposition also supported the candidates and demanded the government to give ease relaxation. Due to this, 3 years of relatives were given to the candidates for 60,244 recruitments in the state.
The board had estimated 25 lakh applications during that time, while about 48 lakh applications were registered.
