The Boxing Federation of India has announced Team India for the Boxing World Cup to be held from 30 June to 7 July in Kazakhstan. India teams will participate in 10 categories of women and men. Haryana’s 16 boxers join Kazakhstan team

9 players in women’s category from Haryana

Out of the 10 boxers in India’s women’s team, 9 are from Haryana. Which includes Bhiwani’s boxer Jasmine Lumboria, Nupur Sheoran, Pooja Rani Bohra and Sakshi Dhanda, Rohtak’s Meenakshi Hooda, Muskan Bainiwal and Anamika Hooda. Neeraj Fougat and Sanju of Charkhi Dadri are included. Sanamacha Chanu is a resident of Manipur.

7 boxers of Haryana in men’s category

Hitesh Gulia of Jhajjar, Bhiwani boxer Sachin Siwach Junior Havildar, Jugnu Ahlawat Havildar of Mitathal, Lakshya Chahar Havildar of Charkhi Dadri and Narendra Berwal Havaldar of Hisar, Manish Rathore, besides Vishal Walia are from Manish Rathore, Haryana. Apart from this, the team includes Abhinash Jamwal, Jadumani, Nikhil Dubey.

6 medals came to Brazil

India won 6 medals in the first phase of the World Boxing Championship held in Brazil. Hitesh Gulia (70) of Haryana won Gold, Abhinash Jamwal (65) Silver and Jadumani Singh (50), Manish Rathore (55), Sachin (60) and Vishal (90) won the bronze medal.
