After a clean sweep in the ODI series, Sri Lanka also defeated Zimbabwe by 4 wickets. On Wednesday, Zimbabwe scored 175 runs losing 7 wickets in Harare. Sri Lanka achieved target by losing 6 wickets in 19.1 overs. Kamindu Mendis scored an important innings of 41 runs off 16 balls in the middle order.
Brian Bennett scored 81 from Zimbabwe In Harare, Sri Lanka won the toss and chose bowling. Zimbabwe lost the wicket of opener Tadivanashe Marumani in the third over, he was dismissed by 7 runs. Brian Bennett again brought the team score close to 60 with Sean Williams in Powerplay. Williams was dismissed for 14 runs in the sixth over.
Captain Sikander Raza again along with Bennett brought the team beyond 100 runs. Raza was dismissed for 28 runs. Ryan Berl again scored 17 runs and made a fifty partnership with Bennett. Bennett was dismissed in the 19th over after scoring 81 runs.

Second T20 match on 6 September Sri Lanka won the first T20 in Harare to take a 1-0 lead in the series. The second match will be played on 6 and the third match on 7 September. Both matches will be in Harare. Sri Lanka won the ODI series 2–0.
