The case of trophy theft has come to light during the ongoing Grand Slam US Open of the year in New York. Romania’s tennis player Sorrana Christie posted a story in the social platform Instagram and wrote that her trophy won in a women’s tournament was stolen from a hotel room in New York during the US Open.
The 35 -year -old Sorrana is out after losing to the women’s singles category. He wrote on Instagram on Saturday night, ‘Whoever stole my Cleveland Trophy from The Fifty Sonesta Hotel room number 314. Please return him. It has no cost, but has an emotional price. Christie won the third singles title of her career in Cleveland this month.

Sorrana Christie lost the 11th ranked Carolina Muchova in the second round of the US Open. He was defeated by Muchova of Czech Republic 7-6, 6-7, 6-4.

Sorrana Christie won the title of Cleveland Ladies Open on 24 August last week. This is the third single title of his career. Christie defeated America’s Ana Lee 6–2, 6-4 in straight sets in the final match.
After winning the final, Christie posted a photo with the trophy on Instagram. He wrote- ‘It was a great week. This title made me very happy.
