Rajat Patidar scored 81 runs on 40 balls.
The final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) is being played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. On Sunday, Mumbai won the toss and chose bowling. Madhya Pradesh scored 174 runs on the basis of captain Rajat Patidar’s fifty. Patidar remained not out after scoring 81 runs. Shardul Thakur took 2 wickets from Mumbai.

MP captain Rajat Patidar did not get anyone’s support at the other end. Venkatesh Iyer could score only 17, Rahul Batham 19 and Subhranshu Senapati could score only 23 runs. Harpreet Singh Bhatia played a slow inning of 15 runs in 23 balls. After his wicket, Patidar scored runs rapidly and took the score beyond 170.
Rahul Batham scored 19 runs on 14 balls, he made a fifty partnership with Patidar and took MP to a respectable score. Team’s opener Arpit Gaur could score only 2 runs and wicketkeeper Harsh Gawli could score only 2 runs. Tripuresh Singh could not even open an account.
Rajat Patidar is the second top run scorer of the tournament.
Shardul took 2 wickets Shardul Thakur and Royston Das took 2-2 wickets from Mumbai. Spinner Atharva Ankolekar took 1 wicket. Medium pacers Shivam Dubey and Suryansh Shedge also got 1 wicket each. A batter runout also occurred.
Mumbai beats Baroda, MP beats Delhi in semi-finals Madhya Pradesh had topped Group-A and Mumbai had made it to the quarter-finals on top of Group-E. Both had to face 1-1 defeat. In the quarter finals, Mumbai defeated Vidarbha by 6 wickets and MP defeated Saurashtra by 6 wickets. In the semi-finals, Mumbai defeated Baroda by 6 wickets and MP defeated Delhi by 7 wickets.
Patidar had also scored a fifty in the semi-finals.
Mumbai won the title in 2022 The teams of Mumbai and Madhya Pradesh have faced each other for the first time in the final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Earlier, both had played 1-1 finals against different teams. Mumbai had defeated Himachal Pradesh by 3 wickets in 2022. Whereas MP had to face a 1-run defeat against Bengal in 2011.
