PV Sindhu eliminated the Japanese player by defeating her in straight games.
The pair of PV Sindhu and Satwik-Chirag have made it to the quarter-finals of the India Open Badminton. In men’s singles, Kiran George performed brilliantly and secured a place in the quarter-finals. Whereas India’s challenge in women’s doubles and mixed doubles ended.
BWF’s World Tour Super 750 tournament is being played at the KD Jadhav Indoor Hall in New Delhi. On Tuesday, Sindhu and Satwik-Chirag had won their respective first round matches.
Sindhu won in straight games Sindhu, who was playing her second badminton tournament after the Paris Olympics, won in straight games. She defeated Japan’s Manami Suizu 21-15, 21-13. In men’s singles, Kiran defeated Alex Lanier of France 22-20, 21-13.
PV Sindhu is playing her first tournament after her marriage.

Satvik-Chirag won after lagging behind 2022 champions Satwik Sairaj and Chirag Shetty won in men’s doubles. The duo lost the first game 20-22 against Japan’s pair of Kenya Mitsuhashi and Hiroki Okamura. Both of them made a comeback, won the remaining 2 games 21-14, 21-16 and won the match.
The pair of Satwik and Chirag have won the India Open Badminton title in 2022.
Challenge ends in women’s doubles The day was not special for India in women’s doubles and mixed doubles. The pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and Tanisha Krishto lost along with the pair of Rituparna Panda and Shwetaparna Panda. In mixed doubles, the pair of Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha had to face defeat along with the pair of Asith Surya and Amrita Prithamesh.
