In all the schools of Uttarakhand state, shlok of Shrimad Bhagwat Gita will be taught in the morning prayer meeting. State Secondary Education Director Dr. Mukul Kumar Sati has issued an order regarding this. After the order, the rules have come into force to about 17 thousand government schools across the state from Tuesday itself.

Director of Education, Dr. Sati said that every day there will be not only a pronunciation of the shlokas of the Gita in the school, but their meaning will also be explained. Its purpose is to make school children aware of ancient Indian traditions. This will also increase intellectual capacity with the personality development of children.

It has been written in the order issued that every day a price based verse will be spoken in a prayer meeting and the notice will also be written on the notice. Teachers will also give theoretical information to the children from time to time, interpreting the shlokas.

State government can decide 30 percent courses

Actually, under the new education policy, there is a directive to include ancient subjects in the curriculum. In this, 70 percent of the course will be decided by the center, while 30 percent of the state will be decided. Under this policy, Ramayana and Srimad Bhagwat Geeta have been included in the syllabus in the syllabus of government schools in Uttarakhand.
