Rishabh Pant scored a century in both innings of the first Test.

Former Indian cricketer and coach Ravi Shastri believes that if Rishabh Pant is not fit for wicketkeeping, he should not play in the fourth Test against England.

On the first day of the third Test, Pant suffered an injury to the finger, after which Dhruv Juril took wicketkeeping. India is behind 2–1 in the 5-match series, and the team management is considering feeding Pant as a batsman in the fourth Test to be held at Old Trafford, Manchester.

Shastri opposed the decision of the team management. He said that this can make Pant’s injury more serious. If the pant fielding, the injury may become further bad. There is some protection with gloves, but if the ball is on the finger without gloves, the condition may worsen. They have to do both wicketkeeping and batting.

He further said, if there is a fracture, they should relax and be ready for the last test of the oval. If there is no fracture, they have 9 days to recover.

Pant is in great form in this series. He made history by scoring centuries (134 and 118) in both innings of the first Test, he became the second wicketkeeper in the world to do so. His 65 -run innings in the second Test helped India win by 336 runs.

He also scored 74 runs in the third Test. Pant has scored 425 runs in 3 matches in the series so far, including 2 centuries and 2 half -centuries, and his average is 70.83. The fourth Test will begin on July 23, in which India will try to equalize the series.

In the second innings of the Lord’s Test, Pant was bowled after scoring 9 runs.
