Shardul Thakur batted against Indian bowlers.
Shardul Thakur played a brilliant innings of 122 runs in 68 balls for India A in the Intra-Squad match played in Bekanham. Along with this, he presented his claim at the playing XI for the first Test match against England.
On the third day, Thakur became the second player to score a century in India A’s innings. Earlier, Sarfaraz Khan scored 101 runs in 76 balls on the second day, including 15 fours and 2 sixes.
Thakur scored his century against India’s Test bowling unit Jaspreet Bumrah, Mohammad Siraj, famous Krishna and Arshdeep Singh.
On the third day, the team management ends the intra-skavad match
Management ended the intra-skava match in the middle of the third day. The match was scheduled to run till Monday, June 16. BCCI said on Sunday that Team India’s Intra-Squad match is over. On June 16, the whole day will be relaxed. The team will leave for Leeds on 17 June.
The practice match was not broadcast live nor was the media officially provided scores. According to media reports, it was the team’s decision to play a three or four -day match. The score cannot be fully trusted, as some players batted twice (such as Washington Sundar for India A).
Team management ended the intra sky -match on the third day. The team will now rest on 16 June.
Chief selector and heads of Center of Excellence were also strong during the match Earlier, India had scored 469 runs. Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar and BCCI’s Center of Excellence head VVS Laxman saw the centuries of Sarfaraz and Shardul in Bekanham.
At the end of the second day’s game, Thakur was unbeaten on 10 balls with the help of 4 fours. Thakur’s brilliant performance in the practice match has given him an edge over fellow all -rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy.

Shardul Thakur, who played the last Test in 2023, was not part of India’s team for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, while Nitish Kumar Reddy played all five Tests and also scored a century in the Melbourne Test. Shardul is known for taking wickets on critical occasions and is seen as a Golden Arm Man. It is yet to be seen whether he is selected in the playing eleven for the headingley test.
In 11 Tests for India, Thakur has taken 31 wickets including a five wicket hall, while scoring 331 runs in 18 innings with a highest innings of 67 runs. Thakur was called back to the Test team for the England series after a brilliant performance for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy. His last Test was against South Africa in Centurion in December 2023.
