Sanjog Gupta started his career as a journalist.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has appointed Sanjog Gupta as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He will take charge from Monday itself. Sanjog will be the 7th CEO in the history of ICC. This selection is done at a time when the cricket is moving towards the Olympics.
ICC Chairman Jai Shah announced, “Sanjog’s experience of sports strategy and compensation will help to take cricket to new heights.”
Selected in 2,500 candidates More than 2,500 applications were received from March 2025 to 25 countries for this post. The ICC’s HR and the Remunation Committee shortlisted 12 candidates. The final selection was conducted by the Nomination Committee, including the ICC Deputy Chair Imran Khwaja, ECB Chair Richard Thompson, Sri Lanka Cricket President Shammi Silva, BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia. Here the ICC board unanimously chose Sanjog Gupta.
Who is Sanjog Gupta? Sanjog Gupta currently has a Sports and Live Experience CEO in Jio Star. He has more than 20 years of experience in this field. Sanjog started his career as a journalist. In 2010, he joined Star India. In 2020, Disney Star became sports head. In 2024, Jio became CEO of Star Sports after Vikam-18 and Disney Star merger.

What did ICC Chairman Jai Shah say? Sanjog’s media-entertainment understanding is excellent. He has a deep ability to understand the thinking of a cricket fan.
