1. Death of Indian scientist Dr. Rajagopala Chidambaram On the morning of 4 January, Dr. Rajagopala died at the age of 88. Dr. Rajagopala was included in the country’s nuclear testing team in 1974.
In 1990, he became the Director of Bhabha Atomic Research Center and was Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission from 1993 to 2000. He received Padma Shri in 1975 and Padma Vibhushan in 1999.
India conducted the second Pokhran nuclear test in 1998 when Dr. Rajagopala was the Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission.
2. 27 people from 23 countries will receive Pravasi Bharatiya Award On January 3, the Ministry of External Affairs announced the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Awards. These awards will be given to 27 people from 23 countries.
This is the highest honor given to Indians living abroad. President Murmu will give this award on January 10, the last day of the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Conference.
The President puts the final seal on the names of the recipients of the NRI Award.

1. Recruitment for 1385 posts in Telangana High Court There is recruitment for 1385 technical and non-technical posts in Telangana High Court. 10th pass candidates between 18 to 34 years can apply for these posts till 31 January.
The salary of the selected candidates has not been released yet. Candidates can submit the application at tshc.gov.in.
2. Recruitment to the posts of Junior Engineer in RBI
RBI has invited applications for 11 posts of Junior Engineer. Graduate candidates aged between 20 to 30 years can apply for these posts till January 20.
Selected candidates will be given a monthly salary of Rs 80,236 along with basic pay of Rs 33,900. Candidates can submit applications at rbi.org.in.
3. Recruitment for 150 posts in SBI SBI has invited applications for 150 posts of Trade Finance Officer. Graduate candidates between 23 to 32 years can apply for these posts till 23 January.
Selected candidates will be given a salary of Rs 64,820 to Rs 93,960 per month. Candidates can submit applications at recruitment.bank.sbi.

1.NTA released UGC NET admit card
NTA has released the admit cards for UGC NET to be held on January 6, 7 and 8, 2025. Candidates can download the admit card from the official website ugcnet.nta.ac.in. UGC NET will be held in two shifts from January 3 to January 16.
UGC NET 2025 will be in Computer Based Test i.e. CBT mode.
2. Delhi High Court orders to reduce the cut-off of NEET PG 2024
Delhi High Court has ordered to reduce the cut-off percentile for counseling of NEET PG 2024. Medical students had filed a petition demanding reduction in the cut-off.
Now the Health Ministry will direct the National Medical Commission (NMC) to implement the lower cut-off. After this NBE will release the new cut-off and Round 3 counseling will start.
Till now Madhya Pradesh has released the merit list of NEET PG counselling.
3.BPSC re-exam held despite opposition from candidates
The 70th joint pre-examination of BPSC was held on 5-13 December. After irregularities at Bapu Exam Center in Patna, candidates protested for cancellation of the exam. Police lathicharged the candidates and used water cannons.
Despite opposition from the candidates, BPSC conducted re-exam today at 22 centres.
Candidates have been protesting against BPSC for more than 15 days.
