1. Telugu actress C. Krishnaveni dies
On 16 February, Telugu actor and producer C. Krishnavani died at the age of 102. She made her debut in 1938 with a film named Kachcha Devayani and has worked in more than 40 films throughout her career.
C. Krishnavini was born on 24 December 1924.
2. First match of 18th season of IPL on 22 March
Indian Premier League (IPL) broadcaster Star Sports released the 18th season schedule at 5.30 pm. The opening match will be held on March 22 in Kolkata between defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). This time 74 matches will be played in 65 days. The final will be held in Kolkata on 25 May.

1. Ammonia gas leaks in Jaipur, more than 6 school children fainted in prayer meeting
Ammonia gas leaks near Chambal Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited (CFCL) plant in Gadepan in Simalia police station area of Jaipur. Due to this, at least 16 students of Government School were hit on Saturday 15 February.
Sudden trouble in prayer meeting
When the students were standing in the school premises in the morning prayer meeting, the strong smell of gas spread. Many students had trouble breathing, while some fainted and some started vomiting. This caused panic among students and employees in the school.
According to villagers and school officials, children’s health deteriorated due to gas leak from the CFCL plant.
2. UPSC CSE application tomorrow last date
UPSC issued the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025 notification on 22 January. The last date to apply in it is tomorrow i.e. 18 February 2025. Candidates can apply by visiting the official website upsc.gov.in or upsconline.gov.in. The last date to apply earlier was 11 February.
This year 979 posts are to be recruited. Apart from this, the notification of UPSC IFOS i.e. Indian Forest Service Recruitment has been released. 150 posts will be filled for forest service.
