Bowler Ravichandran Ashwin has taken retirement from the Indian Premier League (IPL). Ashwin is no longer seen in IPL 2026. Ashwin gave this information on social media and thanked all his fans and teams.
Ashwin was part of the CSK team in IPL 2025, but did not play much matches. He played the last match in the IPL on 20 May this year. Discussions were also going on about his release from his team.

Ashwin, who played 221 matches in the IPL, has 187 wickets (economy rate 7.29) and 833 runs (strike rate 118). In such a situation, their demand will also remain in the rest of the teams. Now it has to be seen whether he trades a franchise or goes to auction. In the previous season, he played 9 matches for CSK.
Ashwin was bought by CSK in the mega auction for Rs 9.75 crore, which he returned to his home franchise after 9 years. Between 2016 and 2024, he played for Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals. He started the IPL career with CSK and stayed with the team from 2008 to 2015.
