PV Sindhu won many medals at the world level. No player has won that much till now. Even after playing so much, Badminton Association of India (BOI) does not ask Sindhu for any suggestions. She is my daughter so I am not saying. She is a big player.

He knows about the game and the problems of the players. In such a situation, the game will have to be taken forward by taking advice from big players including PV Sindhu. There is a need to reform the entire system to groom the players and make them like Sindhu, Lakshya Sen and Saina Nehwal.

This is what PV Sindhu’s father PV Ramanna has to say. Two-time Olympic medalist and World Championship gold medalist Sindhu is playing the Syed Modi International Championship in Lucknow. Father PV Ramanna is also with him in Lucknow.

Dainik Bhaskar Had a special conversation with PV Ramanna. PV Ramanna spoke openly on the current situation of badminton in India, the struggles of the players, the private academies dominating the game and the coaches who are making money instead of preparing players and have adopted selfish nature. Question: How did PV Sindhu become a big player, what things did you keep in mind? answer: Not every player is a greater player than before. There is sacrifice of father and mother behind this. For this, one has to take time out and take the daughter to the stadium. In today’s time, a coach is not able to give full time. The coach teaches 50 players. But he has to understand from children’s play who will play well.

Parents should also find out from 50 people how well their child is doing with it. Its standard should be known in this. Only then can improvement take place.

Question: You are an Arjun Awardee, a volleyball player, how did Sindhu get inclined towards badminton? answer: The player should be interested. Volleyball is a team game. No matter how well you play, there is always some excuse to cut you, but this does not happen in individual games. In this you have to see your potential and you have to move forward.

Both my daughters used to play, but Sindhu showed more interest. Even today, Sindhu goes to the ground very sincerely. The more she practices. I don’t see this in many players. Due to this our standards are not moving forward.

Along with this, players have to be motivated. Nowadays people say that we have played badminton, now we will become coaches. Nowadays many coaches say, I have made Sindhu, Saina and Lakshya but why only 5, bring 50. The coach says we have made him a player. You should stop saying this.

Question: In the initial phase, players are compared with coaches and big players? answer: You compare yourself with big players, but let your child or son win in some formats like Olympics, Asian Championship, National, World Championship. Then compare them. Let them practice so much that they can become Sindhu or Saina.

Question: What measures should parents and coaches take to ensure that children do not deviate from their goals? answer:Children don’t know anything. We have to motivate them. Sometimes to take you to the stadium and sometimes to do stretching. Doing this for a few months will generate enthusiasm in them too. Along with studies, sports will also not be neglected. Look at Sindhu, she is 10th, 12th, B.Com first class. Now he has also done MBA. She is good in studies. Players are also good in studies.

Question: Sindhu definitely looks at her father while playing, do you give tips? Answer: I have been watching games for the last 20 years. Have given volleyball coaching. In Andhra, wall badminton is played by five people each with a woolen ball. The net remains. In this the strokes are done by hand. That is to say, the idea works in the same way.

Ask me anything related to badminton around the world and I will tell you. We both talk after the match. Let me tell you, Sindhu started slowly in the first two matches of Syed Modi. Son, you have made a slow start. Or should have played faster here. All these aspects are discussed.

Question: Did you not get a medal in the Paris Olympics, do you also miss this? Answer: Not every player can win everywhere. Our bad luck was that on October 27, PV Sindhu got injured in MCL. Sindhu did not play there for four months. Like, Carolina Marie had a knee injury. In such a situation, it takes 6 months to recover from it.

Sindhu did not play from November to March, improved in three months, but did not find that rhythm. But God gives whatever he has to give. By the grace of God, now fitness has returned again. Currently she is preparing for India Open, Malaysia, Indonesia and other tournaments.

Question: How do you see the increased competition in private academies? answer: Children are giving preference to academies in the name of players. Children need to understand that they should stay where they are doing well. Coaches should give preference to the children of their academy, but now it is happening that if a child plays well, then they start calling him to themselves.

Sindhu says give me a coach in Hyderabad, I will practice here. The junior lot that is coming should be sent to a national camp by organizing it in the stadium in Guwahati. He should practice there. In private academies, coaches are running after TA, DA and money.

A player from one academy does not talk heart to heart with a player from another academy. When players go out, players from other private academies do not go to practice. The coach stops them. Scare the players. Apart from four-five players, there are no names in badminton right now.

If every person works selfishly, no work will be done. Nowadays, Indian coaches are saying that they are bringing foreign coaches. Give it to us too, but neither win the Olympics nor the World Championship. First make players and then talk.

Sindhu’s coach finished fourth twice in the Olympics. Has three gold in Asian Games. Apart from this, he has defeated big players of the world. World Tour Finals is next month, Krishna and Gayatri have been selected, but it is not so easy to win.

PV Sindhu has reached the finals of Syed Modi Badminton Championship.

Question: Are the players expected to do well for the next Olympics? Question: It is being said for the next Olympics that this player will win, he will win, but nothing can be said right now. Coach is overthinking. Badminton is a game that changes every day. There are some good players who can be drafted. Right now Unnati Hooda, Anmol Kharb, Shreya, Tanvi Patri are also good girls. By making correct tackle these players will get results in 4-5 years. For this you will have to come to the ground for 365 days. This has to be kept in mind.
