1. PM Modi met Indonesia President Prabovo: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with Indonesia President Prabovo Subianto at Hyderabad House in Delhi on 25 January today.
The meeting talked about strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and increasing defense and business cooperation.
- Both countries will cooperate in dealing with maritime security, cyber security and terrorism.
- It has been agreed to further strengthen cooperation in areas such as Fintech, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things and Digital Public Infrastructure.
- India will share information related to health and food security with Indonesia.
- Disaster management agencies of both countries will conduct joint exercises.
- India will cooperate in the patronage of the Prambanan Hindu temple in Indonesia.
2. The Central Government announced the 942 Gallantry Award: The Central Government today announced 942 names for gallantry and service medal (service medal) on 25 January.
Bravery and service medals are given to military, police and other personnel for valor and their sacrifice.
- There are 101 people receiving the President’s Medal (PSM) for the specific service.
- There are 746 personnel receiving medals (MSM) for commendable service.
- 95 people were given bravery medals, of which 5 are named posthumously.
- Of the 95 Gallantry Awards announced, 28 names are from Naxal-radical affected areas. 28 names are from Jammu and Kashmir region, 3 names are North-East and 36 from other areas.
- Uttar Pradesh has the highest number of policemen who have won the brave medal. There are 15 names from Jammu and Kashmir.

3. 7 And the country joined Global Plastic Action Partnership: The World Economic Forum (WEF) has joined 7 and country Global Plastic Action Partnership (GPAP) in the annual meeting of 2025.
Now the number of countries involved in this initiative has increased to 25.
- New member countries of GPAP include Angola, Bangladesh, Gabon, Guatemala, Kenya, Senegal and Tanzania.
- These countries will work on reducing global plastic waste, promoting durable materials and strengthening the recycling system to make the Earth clean and green.
- Global plastic action partnership is an international initiative, aimed at solving the problem of plastic pollution and managing plastic waste effectively.
- It was launched in 2018 by the World Economic Forum.
- GPAP works in partnership with various governments, businesses, and civil society so that concrete solutions can be prepared for sustainable use of plastic and management of plastic waste.
4. Foreign Secretary Vikram Egypt will be visiting China for two days: Foreign Secretary Vikram Egypt will go to China’s two -day visit (26 and 27 January) tomorrow i.e. on 26 January.
During the visit, Egyptian will hold a meeting with the Deputy Foreign Minister of China.
- In this meeting, all important issues related to mutual interest between India and China will be discussed.
- During this period, other bilateral issues including Kailash Mansarovar Yatra will also be discussed.
- The dialogue is part of the already running meetings, including discussion between special representatives and foreign ministers.
- Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal gave information about this during media briefing on 24 January.
5. Tahwwur Rana, convicted of the Mumbai attack, will be brought to India: The US Supreme Court has approved the extradition of Tahwwur Rana, convicted of the Mumbai attack (26/11) under the Indo-US extradition treaty.
Tawwur Rana (64) was arrested by FBI in 2009 and is currently captured at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles.
- Tahwwur Rana, convicted of the Mumbai attack (26/11), will be brought to India soon.
- On 13 November 2024, Rana appealed to the Supreme Court against the extradition decision of the lower court, which was rejected by the Supreme Court on 21 January.
- This was the last chance to avoid extradition.
- Rana’s name is also registered as an accused in the 405 -page charge sheet of the Mumbai attack.
- According to this, Rana is a member of ISI and Lashkar-e-Taiba.
- On 26 November 2008, 10 terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba were attacked in Mumbai.
- The attack was carried out at Leopold Cafe, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Taj Mahal Hotel Palace, Oberoi Trident, Cama Hospital, Nariman House, Metro Cinema and St. Xavier College.

6. ISRO Will launch its 100th mission from Sriharikota on 29 January: The Indian Space Research Organization i.e. ISRO will launch its 100th mission from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota on 29 January.
ISRO has given this information on its social media handle on 25 January.
- The GSLV-F15 rocket will be launched under this historic mission, which will install the NVS-02 satellite in Geosinkronous Transfer Orbit.
- The GSLV-F15 rocket will be the 17th flight of the GSLV series and will be the 11th flight of the indigenous cryogenic stage.
- The NVS-02 satellite is part of the Indian Navigation System (NAVIC), a second generation satellite.
- Its purpose is to give exact position, velocity and time information up to 1500 km in and around India.

8. Senior writer and retired judge of Bombay High Court Narendra Chapalgaonkar passed away: Senior writer and retired judge of Bombay High Court Justice Narendra Chapalgaonkar died today, on the morning of 25 January.
Chapalgaonkar was 88 years old.
- Chapalgaonkar started his career as a Marathi teacher.
- He practiced in Beed in the 1970s.
- In the 1980s, he worked as a judge in the Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court.
- Before becoming a judge of the Bombay High Court, he was the first head of the Marathi Department of Dayanand Vigyan College, Latur from 1961 to 1962. He also presided over the 96th All India Marathi Sahitya Sammelan held in Wardha.
- He has written for many bead newspapers like Kesari, Sakal, Marathwada and Loksatta.
- After advocating for 16 years, he practiced in Mumbai for some time.
- When the Bombay High Court bench was established in Aurangabad, he got an opportunity to work as a judge of the High Court.

9. Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat Train Trial completed: Today, on 25 January, Katra-Srinagar Vande Bharat train was tried on Saturday morning.
The train passed through the world’s highest rail bridge (Chenab Bridge).
- The train left Katra at 8 am and reached Srinagar, the last station in Kashmir at 11 am. That is, the journey of 160 km was completed in 3 hours.
- This train is specially designed according to the weather of Kashmir and it will run easily in snowfall.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi can inaugurate it in February.
- This train will go from Katra to Srinagar via Ramban, Banihal, Kazikund, Anantnag and Avantipora.
