1. PM Modi inaugurated ‘Utkarsh Odisha-In Odisha Conclave 2025’: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated ‘Utkarsh Odisha-Make in Odisha Conclave 2025’ in Bhubaneswar, Odisha on 28 January.
‘Utkarsh Odisha-Make in Odisha Conclave 2025’ is a business summit organized by the Government of Odisha.
- This conclave is being held from 28 to 29 January at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar.
- The conclave also included diplomats from 15 countries including Australia, Japan, Italy, Egypt, Venezuela, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Malaysia and UK as ‘Focus Countrys’.
- The Odisha government aims to raise Rs 5 lakh crore to convert Odisha to Global Industrial Center.
- This mega event is expected to sign more than 100 mOUs.
- The conclave consists of around 3,000 National-International Industry Leaders, Investors, Startup Entrepreneurs and Industry stakeholders.
- Apart from this, about 7,500 celebrities including 500 foreign investors, representatives of 17 countries have participated.
- PM Modi has his second visit to Odisha in this month.
- Earlier on 9 January, he attended the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas celebrations at this place.
2. PM Modi inaugurated the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand on 28 January today.
The inauguration ceremony of the 38th National Games is taking place at Maharana Pratap Stadium in Dehradun, Uttarakhand.
- National Games are being held in 11 cities of 8 districts of Uttarakhand till 14th of next month.
- During this time there will be a total of 47 competitions of 35 sports.
- This year, 28 states, some union territories and 38 teams of services are participating in the National Games.
- The first state will be the first state to organize all the events of Uttarakhand National Games in its own state.

3. Kailash Mansarovar Yatra will resume: Many agreements were formed during the meeting of Foreign Secretary and Chinese Deputy Minister for the purpose of stabilizing and re-activating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and China.
On January 27, a meeting was held between India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Mistry and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing.
- According to the consent, the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra will resume with the heat of 2025.
- With this, direct flights will also start between India and China soon. However, its date has not come yet.
- The Ministry of External Affairs gave this information in a statement on 28 January.
- Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and flight service between the two countries were closed from 2020.
- Earlier, Foreign Secretary Vikram Egyptian left for a two -day visit to China (26 and 27 January) on 26 January.

4. Shailesh Kumar claims of Software Company Joho became CEO: Sridhar Weambu, the founder of the software company Joho and a long time CEO, has left his post and will now serve as the Chief Scientist of the company.

- Now Sridhar Vambu will work on Artificial Intelligence and Deep-Tech focused research and innovation.

5. A search committee was formed to appoint the Chief Election Commissioner: The Central Government has formed a search committee to shortlist the name for the appointment of the next Chief Election Commissioner on 27 January.
The search committee is chaired by Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal.
- The committee has included Secretaries of Finance and Personnel and Training Department as two other members.
- The term of the current Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar ends on 18 February.
- Dnyanesh Kumar is the most senior election commissioner after Rajiv.
- After the name is shortlist, the selection committee headed by the Prime Minister will decide the names of the Chief Election Commissioner and other Election Commissioner.
- The selection committee consists of the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and a Union Cabinet Minister nominated by the Prime Minister.
- This will be the first time after the implementation of the new law when a Chief Election Commissioner will be selected under it.
6. Indian Railways upgraded more than 23,000 km of track: Indian Railways has upgraded more than 23,000 km of track of Indian Railway Network to handle the train speed up to 130 km per hour.
The Railway Ministry gave information about the track upgradation on 27 January.
- Apart from this, more than 54 thousand kilometers of railway tracks have been upgraded for speed of 110 kilometers per hour.
- This will ensure uninterrupted contact in various areas and increase the operation capacity of the railway.
- Modernization of track infrastructure includes ensuring stanability and durability for high speed operations, providing advanced signaling systems for safe operations as well as fencing at places necessary to increase security and reduce risks.
7. Legal Metrology Rules 2025 draft notified for ‘One Nation, One Time’: The Department of Consumer Affairs has launched a project for the ‘Ek Nation, Ek Time’ target and a project for micro -second accuracy in the Indian Standard Time (IST).
For this, the Department of Consumer Affairs, National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) will work closely.
- The objective of this project is to manufacture technology and infrastructure for the spread of Indian Standard Time (IST) from 5 legal metros laboratories across the country.
- Currently, we have Indian Standard Time (IST) in our country. But the real -time GPS is determined by satellites, which is accurate to the millisecond and is associated with the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

8. Himachal’s Saksham to ‘Youngest Map Genius’ title: 5 -year -old Saksham Thakur of Himachal Pradesh has won the title of ‘Youngest Map Genius of India’, showing extraordinary talent on Google Map.
Saksham’s name was recorded in the OMG Book of Records.
- OMG announced the name of Saksham on the evening of 27 January and informed DC Torul S. Ravish of Kullu.
- Competent in just 5-10 seconds, they find any country in the world on a map.
- For this award, first OMG team took an online interview of Saksham, then DC of Kullu was also interviewed.
- After DC interview, Saksham was awarded the ‘Youngest Map Genius of India’ Award.
