Australia’s fast bowler and Test captain Pat Cummins has been dropped from the upcoming limited overs series against India and New Zealand due to a back injury. Cricket Australia (CA) made it clear that Cummins’s ‘Rehabilitation’ is being managed in such a way that they can fit perfectly for the Ashes series.

The three T20 matches against New Zealand are from 1 October. The Indian team’s tour of Australia is from October 19. Team India will play a series of three ODIs between October 19-15 and five T20 matches between October 29 and November 8. While the first Test of the Ashes series will begin in Perth from November 21.

CA said in its statement, ‘Pat Cummins will not be available for a limited overs series against India and New Zealand. They will continue their rehabilitation process, and their return to bowling will be decided according to the preparation of the Ashes.
