Jason Gillespie was appointed the head coach of Pakistan’s Test team in April this year.
Pakistan Test team head coach Jason Gillespie has resigned from his post. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed former fast bowler Aaqib Javed as the interim head coach of the Test team. Pakistan Cricket Board gave this information on Thursday.
Gillespie was not happy with some decisions of the PCB. He informed the board about this before leaving for the South Africa tour. Gillespie was appointed the head coach of Pakistan’s Test team in April this year.
Pakistan team will play the first Test in Centurion from 26 December, while the second Test will be played in Cape Town from 3 January. Before this, Pakistan also has to play a series of three ODI and three T20 matches in South Africa.
Gary Kirsten quits coaching in six months Recently, the Pakistan Cricket Board had taken away the right to select its captains and head coaches. This was the reason why Gary Kirsten left the post after six months in October.
Gary Kirsten was made the head coach of Pakistan’s ODI and T-20 team in May this year.
Mickey Arthur resigns after ODI World Cup 2023 After the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, PCB had made many changes in its support staff. The team could not qualify for the semi-finals of the ODI World Cup 2023.
Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn and Andrew Puttick resigned from their posts after the World Cup. Arthur was appointed the director of the Pakistan men’s cricket team in April 2023. Bradburn was announced as the head coach of the team early last year.
