India’s Olympic Javelin player Shivpal Singh has failed in the dope test for the second time in his career. If he is found guilty, he may be banned for eight years. 29 -year -old Shivpal, who participated in the Tokyo Olympics, has been found positive due to the intake of banned substance in the dope test taken earlier this year. They were taking training in NIS Patiala at that time.

Shivpal has been suspended by the National Doping Agency (NADA). According to the news agency PTI, Shivpal’s close friend said, yes, the result of his test for the banned substance has come positive. They have failed in dope test for the second time. Earlier in 2021, Shivpal was found positive for steroids in the dope test.

You can get 8 years sentence

According to the rules of the National Doping Agency and World Doping Agency, if a player is found guilty of doping for the second time, he may be banned for a maximum of eight years. In 2021, Shivpal was found positive for steroids in the dope test. He was then banned for 4 years, blaming him as a doping crime.

Shivpal’s ban was till 2025 but appealed to the NADA panel. After which his sentence was reduced to just one year in January 2023.

Silver won in Asian Championship

Shivpal won the silver medal at the Asian Championships held in 2019 Doha. There he performed his best performance of 86.23 meters. Shivpal returned in April 2023 and won the bronze medal at the National Interaction Championship in Bhubaneswar in June the same year. He also won a gold medal at the 2023 National Games in Goa.
