World champion D Gukesh defeated World No-1 Magnus Carlson in the sixth round of the Norway Chase tournament. This is Gukesh’s first win against Carlson in the classical chase. With this victory, 19 -year -old Gukesh Norway Chess has moved up to third place in 2025 points table with 8.5 points, while Carlson and American Grandmaster Fabiano Caruana are jointly first place with 9.5 points.
After the defeat, Carlson punched the chase board angrily, which shattered the pawns. After this, he did not even talk to the media and went away.
The first round of the tournament was played between these two. Five -time world champion Carlson defeated Gukesh in that match.

Gukesh won the title by defeating the Chinese player in the 14th game. The championship final started on 25 November, 13 games were played between the two by 11 December.
