England are on their way to a comeback in the Christchurch Test against New Zealand with the help of half-centuries from Harry Brook and Ollie Pope. Till the T-break on the second day of the match on Friday, the English team has scored 174 runs for 4 wickets. Harry Brook is unbeaten on 54 and Ollie Pope is unbeaten on 59 runs. There has been a century partnership between the two.
The English team had lost 3 wickets for 45 runs till the lunch break. Opener Jack Crawley was out for zero. While Jacob Bithel scored 10 runs. Ben Duckett contributed 46 runs.
New Zealand team all out for 348 runs The Kiwis started the day with a score of 319/8. The team lost the last 2 wickets for 29 runs and was all out for 348 runs. Glenn Phillips, who led the innings with 41 runs, completed his fifty and returned unbeaten on 58 runs. Whereas, Tim Southee was out on 15, William O’Rourke was out on zero.
Bashir and Kars got 4 wickets each. For England, Shoaib Basir and Brayden Carse took 4-4 wickets. While Goss Atkinson got 2 wickets.
Braydon Carse took 4 wickets for 64 runs in 19 overs.
