Cricketer Naman Ojha’s father sentenced to 7 years in jail in embezzlement case.
In Betul, the court has sentenced Vinay Kumar Ojha, father of cricketer Naman Ojha, to 7 years in jail and a fine of Rs 14 lakh. He was accused of embezzlement of Rs 1.25 crore in Jaulkheda branch of Bank of Maharashtra in the year 2013. The court also sentenced three other accused along with him.

Multai’s Additional Sessions Court on Tuesday pronounced the sentence in an 11-year-old case. When the embezzlement took place, Naman’s father was a manager at the Jaulkheda branch of Bank of Maharashtra. The court has also sentenced the bank’s Multai branch manager Abhishek Ratnam and two other accused Dhanraj and Lakhanlal Pawar to 7 years in jail in this case.
A case of fraud was registered in 2014 An FIR was registered against Naman’s father Vinay Ojha in 2014 under various sections including fraud. He was absconding since the case was registered. The police was searching for him for 8 years. The remaining accused in the case had already been arrested. Vinay Ojha was arrested by the police in 2022. All four accused were currently out on bail. After the court’s decision, he was sent to Multai jail on Tuesday.
