Boxer Lovelina Borgohan, who won India’s bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympic Games, has accused the Indian Boxing Association (BFI) Executive Director retired Colonel Arun Malik of Misbihave. According to Toi, Lovelina has accused of behaving derogatory and gender discriminatory.

The 27 -year -old boxer has made a 2 -page written complaint. At the same time, Colonel Malik has denied Lovelina’s allegations. The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has started investigating these allegations. IOA has formed a three -member inquiry committee, including Tops CEO Nachtar Singh Johal, table tennis player Sharat Kamal and a female lawyer. The committee has to report in 2 weeks.

What is the whole matter? Lavlina alleged that Colonel Malik treated her very derogatory and despised at the tops’s zoom meeting on 8 July.

It further wrote that after this meeting I was very hurt, I became sad and disappointed. I started wondering what we are really considered worthy of respect?

Lovelina wrote-

I am writing this letter not just as an athlete, but as a woman. For years, the expectations of the country have been carrying in the boxing ring.

Lovelina wrote-

In the meeting of BFI and Tops on 8 July, Colonel Malik shouted to me and said- keep silent, put your head down and do what is being said. His behavior was not only derogatory but also like showing discrimination and strength towards women.

Lavlina was awarded the Arjuna Award in 2020. He is the sixth player of Assam to receive these awards.

Arun Malik said-

Lovelina is the pride of our country. We interacted in the meeting in a complete professional manner. The meeting was recorded and all concerned officials have a recording. We heard and understood Lovalina’s words according to the rules.

Lovelina wanted to train in Europe with private coaches Lavlina sought permission for her personal coach Pranamika Boro and training in Europe. But Colonel Malik refused to bring these proposals into the idea of the tops.
