Wes Paes, father of tennis player Leander Paes, died at the age of 80. According to media reports, Ves Pace Parkinson’s disease was struggling. He was admitted to a hospital in Kolkata on Tuesday morning. Wes was a member of the Indian hockey team that won the bronze medal at the Munich Olympics in 1972.

Wes used to play on the midfielder position in the Indian hockey team. Apart from this, he also tried his hand in many sports like football, cricket and rugby. He was also a doctor of sports medicine. He worked in BCCI’s anti -doping department for many years. Dr. Wes also worked as the President of Calcutta Cricket and Football Club.
