After the Paris Olympic 2024, India’s Recurve Archery failed once again on the big stage. Men archers have already been out

In the mixed category, Deepika and Neeraj Chauhan suffered 4-5 (18–19) against the Japan pair of Nanami Asakuno and Yuki Kavata in the shoot-off in a very tough match. Indian men’s archers have already been out of the individual category and the compound team has ended its campaign, so the Indian recurve team will now expect to save some respect in the women’s individual category.

India has won two medals so far, both in the compound class. The men’s team won the gold medal for the first time in this competition. While Rishabh Yadav and Jyoti Surekha Vannam achieved silver in the mixed team category. Rahul, who was making his debut among the male archers, impressed the most. He made it to the third round but lost 5-6 (8–10) against Alexandre Machawariyani of Georgia in the shoot-off.

The most experienced player of the Indian team and Olympian Dheeraj Bomadevara received the tough draw. He faced former Olympic champion Turkish Met Gazz in the first round itself. Dheeraj lost 2–6 in a one-sided match. Neeraj also suffered a 0–6 defeat in a straight set against Uzbekistan’s Bobrajabov Beckjod in a one-sided match.
