Sports complex is being prepared in Ahmedabad to host the Commonwealth Games.

India will claim to host the Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad in 2030. On Wednesday, the Union Cabinet has approved the bidding proposal. Earlier on August 14, it was approved by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA). Now India will have to give a final bidding proposal by 31 August. In the end of November, it will be decided whether it will be hosted or not.

The possibility of India hosting 2030 Commonwealth Games has increased after Canada was out of the race. Last month, a team visited the venue in Ahmedabad in the leadership of Commonwealth Sport Director Darren Hall. Also held a meeting with Gujarat government officials. The Commonwealth Sport is an institution that decides to host a country.

India has organized the Commonwealth Games in Delhi in 2010.

5 steps for Commonwealth Games Bidding Process

  1. The city (country), willing to host games, has to apply to the Commonwealth Sport.
  2. After this, the National Olympic Committee of that country approves the proposal.
  3. Final bidding has to be done after getting approval from the country’s government.
  4. Commonwealth Sport officials inspect Host City and Venue.
  5. After inspecting all the contenders, the General Assembly of the Commonwealth Sport declares the name of the final host.

Last year was claimed for 2036 Olympics India is also preparing for hosting 2036 Olympic Games. In November last year, India submitted a claim to host it.

The Olympic hosts of 2032 have been fixed. The 2032 host is given to the city of Brisbane in Australia. While the 2028 Olympic Los Angeles is to be held.

India has also done 2 Asian Games India has so far hosted 3 multi sports games. These include the Asian Games of 1951 and 1982 and the 2010 Commonwealth Games. There were Commonwealth Games in Delhi in 2010.
