On 21 October 2023, Jagan Mohan Rao was elected the President of HCA.
Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) President A.K. Jagan Mohan Rao has been arrested. On Wednesday, four senior officers have also been detained by the Telangana Crime Investigation Department.
Other arrested officers, HCA treasurer C. Srinivasa Rao, CEO Sunil Kant, General Secretary Rajendra Yadav and Rao’s wife G. There are poems. All of them have been accused of blackmailing Sunrisers Hyderabad for tickets. According to the BCCI rules, the home state stadium of any team gets 10% of the stadium capacity.

When did the matter begin? The complaint was filed by Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) general secretary Dharm Gurav Reddy on 9 June. In this, serious allegations were made on HCA like forgery, rigging and pressure. Based on the complaint, CID has registered a case under several sections of the IPC, including 465 (forgery), 468 (fraud), 471 (use of fake documents like real), 403 (keeping property), 409 (betrayal) and 420 (fraud). It is alleged that Rao had submitted fake documents to participate in the election.
Pressure for ticket from SRH HCA is alleged to have asked for more passes from the IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). As per the agreement between SRH, HCA and BCCI, HCA should get only 3,900 free tickets (10%of stadium capacity). But HCA officials demanded 10% additional tickets, which SRH refused.
In IPL 2025, HCA used to pressurize Hyderabad franchise for free tickets.
Ask for tickets by locking corporate box SRH also alleged that the HCA president locked a corporate box and demanded 20 additional tickets on March 27 against Lucknow Supergiants. This was a violation of the agreement.
SRH warned to change the state The situation deteriorated so much that SRH complained to the IPL Governing Council and BCCI and said that if the pressure strategy is not stopped, they can do their home matches in another state.
Only 3,900 tickets will be available To reduce stress, HCA Secretary R.K. Devraj held a meeting with the SRH team manager. It was decided that HCA would get 3,900 free passes, as it has already been. SRH and HCA said in a joint statement that now they will work together in a professional way so that the audience can get good experience.
