Haryana won the women’s category gold medal in the final matches of the hockey competition at the 38th National Games held in Haridwar. While Karnataka also captured the gold medal in the men’s category. Haryana became champion Haryana’s women’s hockey team

Chhawan Aishwarya of Madhya Pradesh scored in the fifth minute through a penalty corner to give her team an initial lead. However, Madhya Pradesh could not maintain this lead and Haryana made a great comeback.

Jharkhand won bronze medal
Mahima Chaudhary (37 ‘), Ishika (45’, 50 ‘) and Monica (55’) scored goals from Haryana. Ishika scored two goals, one of which was from field goal and the other from a penalty corner. In the third place, Jharkhand defeated Maharashtra 2–1 to capture the bronze medal.
For Jharkhand, Pramodani Lakra (12 ‘) scored a field goal, while captain Albela Rani Toppo (17’) converted the penalty corner into a goal. Tanushree Dinesh Kadu (39 ‘) scored a goal for Maharashtra, but his team lost.
Hockey team of match winning win
On the other hand, in the men’s final match, Karnataka won the gold medal by defeating Uttar Pradesh 3–2 in a tough match. Faraz Khan of Uttar Pradesh scored a goal from a penalty corner in the first minute to give the team an edge.
But soon Shamth CS of Karnataka equaled in the eighth minute. Bharat Mahalingappa Kurtakoti (18 ‘) and Abhran Sudev B (39’) of Karnataka scored a goal from the penalty corner to bring the team to a strong position.
