1. defeated 3 wrestlers in 1 day in Paris Olympics Vinesh Phogat played 3 matches on 6 August 2024 in the 50 kg weight category. In the pre-quarterfinals, he defeated Tokyo Olympic champion UE Susaki. In the quarter -finals, he defeated Ukraine and Cuba’s Wrestler in the semi -finals. Vinesh became the first Indian woman wrestler to reach the final.
2. Diet gain weight, cut down to nails He was given food and water for protein and energy while playing 3 matches till the semi-finals. Due to which his weight increased to 52 kg 700 grams. Vinesh had just 12 hours to bring the weight back to 50kg. Throughout the night, Vinesh continued to try to lose weight. Vinesh did not sleep all night and continued to exercise like jogging, skipping and cycling to bring the weight into the fixed category. Vinesh had cut his hair and nails. His clothes were also shortened.

3. Weight got more weight on the final day, it was just 15 minutes to reduce According to the rule on the morning of 7 August, Vinesh’s weight was examined again. His weight turned out to be more. She got 15 minutes, but for the last time she came out 100 grams more. After which he was disqualified.
Vinesh Phogat fainted as soon as he came to know about being out of the Paris Olympics. After this, he was admitted to the hospital in Khel village itself.
4. Vinesh appealed against disqualification After this, Vinesh appealed to the Sports Court (CAS) on disqualification. In which Vinesh appealed to play the final match. If this was not possible, Vinesh changed the appeal and said that till the semi -finals, his weight was in line with the rules. They should be given a joint silver medal. The hearing on his appeal began.
5. Vinesh retired apologizing to mother After missing the Olympic medal, Vinesh Phogat announced to retire from wrestling on 8 August 2024. He wrote social media posts at 5.17 am. Vinesh wrote- “Mother wrestling won from me, I lost. Sorry your dream, my courage is not broken. It is not more power now.
6. Sports Court dismissed the petition This was followed by the hearing in the Sports Court on the petition of Vinesh Phogat. However, after the Paris Olympic end, its decision came, in which his petition was dismissed. After which Vinesh returned to the country without a medal. He was welcomed as a convoy from Delhi Airport to the ancestral village Balali.
7. She joined Congress, became MLA after contesting the first election Vinesh Phogat returned to the country and met Rahul Gandhi in Delhi.
