Prior to the Asia Cup 2025, there has been an update about the fitness of India’s star all-rounder Hardik Pandya and T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav.
According to Toi, Hardik Pandya will undergo a routine fitness test at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru on 11 and 12 August before the selection of India’s Asia Cup 2025 team, based on which he will be evaluated. Pandya played the last international match against New Zealand in March.
At the same time, Surya is yet to be fully fit. They will stop a week more in the presence of Physio and Medical Team in NCA, so that they can fit perfectly on time. He underwent sports hernia surgery in Munich, Germany in June.
The Indian team has not yet been announced for the Asia Cup. Before that the fitness test of the players is being done. Shreyas Iyer was done last month.

Asia Cup will start from 9 September
The Asia Cup will be played in 2025 UAE. The tournament will start from 9 September and run till 28 September. Eight teams will participate in it. India, Pakistan, Oman and UAE are placed in the same group. Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Hong Kong are in Group B. All teams in the group will play 1–1 matches against each other. India will clash with UAE on 10 September, Pakistan on 14 and Oman on 19.
