A series of three formats will be played between India and South Africa in November-December this year.
Team India’s Mains team will play the series from West Indies and South Africa between October and December. The Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati got the first Test hosting. India will compete with South Africa here. During this time, for the first time a Men International match will also be played at the stadium in Mullanpur, Mohali.
The 2 Test series between India and West Indies will be held in October. Whereas Team India will play 2 Tests, 3 ODIs and 5 T20 series against South Africa in November-December. Meanwhile, Team India will also go to Australia and play 3 ODIs and 5 T20 series.
There will be a Test match for the first time at Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.
2 Tests in Ahmedabad and Kolkata against West Indies
Team India’s home season will begin with a 2 -Test series against the West Indies. From October 2, the first Test will be played between the two teams at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. From October 10, the second test will start at the Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata again.
The 2 Tests against the West Indies are part of the World Test Championship (WTC). After this, Team India will play 3 ODI series in Australia from 19 to 25 October. Then from 29 October to 8 November, there will also be a 5 T20 series in Australia.
First Test from South Africa in New Delhi
After returning from Australia, Team India has to play a series of three formats against South Africa. The first Test in New Delhi from November 18 and the second Test in Guwahati from November 26 will start. For the first time at Barsapara Stadium, there will be an international match with a red ball. Earlier, 12 International matches of ODI and T20 have been played here.
There will be 3 ODIs between the two teams from 30 November to 6 December. They have been hosted by Ranchi, Raipur and Wizag. Both teams will play 5 T20s from 9 to 19 December. They have been hosted by Cuttack, Mullanpur, Dharamshala, Lucknow and Ahmedabad.
The last Test series between India and South Africa took place in December 2023. It was a 1–1 draw.
Men’s International Match for the first time in Mullanpur
The Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium in Mullangpur hosted for a Mains International match for the first time. The final of the Women’s World Cup will be played here this year. After the World Cup, the stadium will have Men’s T20. Domestic matches have been played so far in Mullanpur, it is also the homeground of the Punjab Kings team in the IPL.
For the first time, there will be a Mains International match at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium in Mullanpur.
Team India will go to England after IPL
The IPL will end on 25 May. After this, Team India has to play a 5 Test series in England from June 20. The series will run till 4 August. 5 matches will be played on the grounds of Leeds, Birmingham, Lords, Manchester and The Oval.
The England Cricket Board (ECB) stated this week that the board is about to retire the Pataudi Trophy. The Test series between India and England is called the Pataudi Trophy. It started in 2007, but the trophy will be renamed in 2025. What will be the new name, it has not been decided yet.
