According to the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA), coaching centers can no longer make false claims that may mislead consumers. The government has taken this decision after many complaints. So far 54 notices have been issued to coaching institutes. Apart from this, a fine of about Rs 54.60 lakh has been imposed on 18 coaching institutes and they have also been ordered to withdraw the misleading advertisements.
These guidelines will be valid for all institutions, coaching centers and organizations related to academic support, education, guidance and tuition services. If the coaching centers do not follow this then action will be taken against them under the Consumer Protection Act.
