Screengab of video shared on social media

The Rajasthan government has clarified that Sikh Students will be allowed to appear in competitive examinations like their religious symbols like saber, tough and turban. The new directive has been released on 29 July.

Let us know that on July 27, a video of a student was shared on social media. In the video, the student told that she was not allowed to appear in the Civil Judge Examination Examination held in Rajasthan as she wore things of her religious identity.

The student showed her hard and saber and said that she was refused to give an entry in the exam center. The student said that she was not given any instructions.

Video went viral on social media

The Sikh community objected to the video of the student. One user said that preventing a Amritdhari candidate from taking the exam is a violation of his constitutional right. The Rajasthan government and the central government should investigate the matter.

Rajasthan State Minority Commission also filed a complaint to the state government. The complaint said that the Sikh community is unhappy with this step. After this, the state government has issued instructions for the examination agency.

Cited a circular of 2019

This directive of the government has cited a circular of 2019 of the previous Congress government. In this circular, instructions were given to allow Sikh candidates to appear in the examination along with their religious symbols in the examinations conducted by Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) and Staff Selection Board.

The instructions also cited a Judgment of the Delhi High Court in which the objectives of religious identity were allowed to be worn at exam centers.
