The Duleep Trophy 2025 will begin in Bengaluru from today. The tournament will be played in zonal format this year. Six teams are participating in it.
Two quarter -finals will start from today. The first quarter-finals will be between the North Zone and the East Zone. While the second will be played between the Central Zone and the North-East Zone. Both matches will be played at two different grounds of BCCI Center of Excellence Bangalore.
Both quarter-finals will clash with South and West Zones in the semi-finals. The final will be played from 11 to 15 September.
South-West Zone will play semi-finals directly This year the Dalip Trophy will again be played in Zone format. The last time it was played between four teams (A, B, C, D). There will be a total of 5 matches in this tournament. There will be 2 quarter -finals, 2 semi -finals and 1 final. All matches will be knocked out, ie the losing team will be out. Last time (2023-24) South Zone won the title, defeated West Zone by 75 runs in the final. For this reason, this time the South Zone and West Zone will play directly from the semi -finals.
South Zone is the defending champion of the tournament. The team won the title by defeating West Zone.
West Zone won the most 19 titles The most successful team in the history of the Dalip Trophy has been the West Zone, which has won the title 19 times so far. This is followed by the name of the North Zone, which has 18 titles, while South Zone has captured the trophy 13 times. The Central Zone has won the title 6 and the East Zone 2 times. The Dalip Trophy began in 1961–62.
