Abhishek Sharma got angry with Digvesh’s note book celebration.
The IPL has taken disciplinary action against Lucknow bowler Digvesh Singh Rathi and Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Abhishek Sharma. Rathi has been banned for a match, as well as a fine of 50 percent of the match fees. While Abhishek Sharma has been fined 25 percent of the match fee.
Abhishek is the first player to be banned for a match this season. He will now not be able to play his team Lucknow Super Giants in the match against Gujarat Tatin in Ahmedabad on 22 May.
The action against both of them has been taken due to a debate during the match played in Lucknow on 19 May.
What was the matter In fact, Abhishek Sharma lost his wicket in an attempt to play a big shot on the third ball of the eighth over during the Sunrisers’ innings during the match. Digvesh threw the ball outside the off stump. Abhishek played a shot on the cover and Shardul Thakur took a brilliant catch. After dismissing, Digvesh Rathi celebrated the note book and showed Abhishek Sharma the way to go out.
After this, Abhison returned and the two started debating. Then the umpire came in the middle and stopped both.
Abhishek Sharma and Digvesh Rathi clashed during the match in Lucknow and Hyderabad. Both were separated by the umpire and fellow players and pacified the case.
Digvesh has been banned for the third time due to mistake Rathi has had to pay a fine several times in IPL 2025 due to his ‘notebook celebration’. For the first time, he was fined for this celebration in the match against Punjab Kings on 1 April. Also a demerit point was also found.
After this, after dismissing Naman Dheer against Mumbai Indians on April 4, he was also given 2 demerit points in addition to imposing a fine of 50 percent match fee.
At the same time, even after Abhishek Sharma was dismissed in the match against SRH, he gave 2 and demerit points for demonetisation. In this way, a total of 5 demerit points have been added to his account.
According to IPL rules, if a player scores four demerit points over a period of 36 months, he has to face a match ban. He will not play in the match against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad on 22 May.

Abhishek convicted of level-1 of IPL Code of Conduct Abhishek was found guilty of Level-1 of the IPL Code of Conduct. This was his first level 1 crime under Article 2.6 this season and hence, he has also received a demerit point with 25 percent fine of the match.
