The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has announced that cricket has been included once again in the Asian Games 2026. OCA’s 41st Annual General Meeting was held on 28 April in Bangkok, Thailand, where it was decided to maintain cricket at the Asian Games 2026 event.
The 20th Asian Games 2026 will take place from 19 September to 4 October in Achie and Nagoya, Japan. Around 15,000 athletes will participate in it. OCA said, both cricket and mix martial arts have been formally approved in the sports program.
Cricket will be part of the Asian Games for the fourth time
Cricket Asian Games will include the fourth time. Cricket was the first time in the Gwangzhu 2010 Asian Games. Later it returned to Incheon in 2014, although these matches were not given international status. Hangzhou was the winner of the Asian Games in China in 2022.
