A video has surfaced from Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh. In this video, ‘Prasadhan’ is written on the gate and books are kept on a table on one side in a small space inside. There is a bed on the other side. School bags are kept on one side, as soon as the children remove the school bags, it is understood that this is not a room but a toilet, where school children are forced to stay.

A table fan is also visible. This photo is not of any hostel room but of the toilet of Eklavya Hostel in Orchha Chhote Dongar village of Narayanpur district of Chhattisgarh.

According to reports, the number of students in the hostels has increased due to which there is no space for the children to stay, so the toilets which were closed for a long time have been opened for the students to stay.

In this, not only the students but also the girl students are living in the same toilet and CCTV cameras are also installed in their toilets.

Most of the students are from heavily Naxal affected areas.

Most of the students studying in Eklavya School are from heavily Naxal affected areas. These tribal students are forced to stay in toilets to study and due to this some students are also falling ill.

The students, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said they feared they would be expelled if they complained. That’s why they don’t want to complain.

Center is allotting Rs 75 crore every year

Every year the Central Government gives more than Rs 75 crore to Navodaya Schools for maintenance.

Collector suspended the school in-charge principal

After the video of Eklavya Hostel surfaced, the Collector of Narayanpur has immediately suspended the school in-charge Principal Omkar Singh Thakur. During the initial investigation regarding Navodaya Hostel, the SDM had received information about more complaints against the principal.
