- BCCI Finances Report 2024: Board Adds ₹ 14,627 Crore in 5 years, ₹ 4,193 Crore in FY 2023 24 24

The total bank balance of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has increased to ₹ 20,686 crore. News agency PTI quoted a report as saying that the board earned ₹ 14,627 crore in the last 5 years. Earned ₹ 4,193 crore in the previous financial year (2023-24) alone. In 2019, BCCI had ₹ 6,059 crore in the treasury. This information has been revealed in the financial report shared with the state cricket associations.
The annual general meeting (AGM) of BCCI will be held on 28 September, where new financial information will be shared.
Doubly increase in general fund According to the report, the general fund of BCCI in 2019 was ₹ 3,906 crore, which increased to ₹ 7,988 crore in 2024. That is, it has increased by ₹ 4,082 crore in five years.
Keep ₹ 3,150 crore separate for tax BCCI has also made major provisions regarding tax liability. The board has kept ₹ 3,150 crore separate for income tax for FY 2023-24. However, the matter is under consideration in courts and tribunals, the amount has been reserved keeping in mind any possible payment.
International cricket matches and media rights reduced income Income from international men’s cricket tournaments in 2023-24 was ₹ 361.22 crore, which is less than the previous year’s ₹ 642.78 crore. Apart from this, income from media rights also declined from ₹ 2,524.80 crore to ₹ 813.14 crore. The shortage was due to low international matches and ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Increased income from IPL and ICC BCCI got a surplus (profit) of ₹ 1,623.08 crore in 2023-24 due to the earnings from IPL and ICC. This is more than last year’s ₹ 1,167.99 crore.
BCCI Media Rights earns money from such IPL: The right to telecast media and broadcasting rights i.e. IPL matches. In addition to the live telecast of the match, only the company can show up to the highlights that have media rights. This only gives BCCI the most revenue. Title Sponsorship: In 2008, ₹ 50 crore was given annually for title sponsorship. At the same time, in 2023, this figure increased to more than ₹ 300 crore annually. There was a two -year deal between Tata and BCCI, for which a total of ₹ 600 crore was given. Franchise fees: When any new team is part of the IPL, franchise fees have to be paid for this. This entire process is done by bidding, in which different companies or group teams are part of the bidding process to buy. In the year 2022, when Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Supergiants became part of the League, ₹ 12500 crore was added to BCCI’s account.

Bank earned ₹ 986.45 crore from interest BCCI earned ₹ 986.45 crore from interest on bank deposits, which is much higher than last year’s ₹ 533.05 crore.
Fund for state associations and cricket development BCCI allocated ₹ 1,990.18 crore for state cricket associations in 2023-24 and a provision of ₹ 2,013.97 crore has been made for 2024-25. Apart from this, ₹ 1,200 crore has been allocated for the infrastructure, ₹ 350 crore for Platinum Jubilee Benevolant Fund and ₹ 500 crore for cricket development.
