The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given changes in the playing conditions and allowed injury replacement in the upcoming domestic season. If a player suffers a serious injury and is not in a position to play further in the match, then another player will get a chance. This rule will be applicable in multi-day domestic matches. That is, in such matches that last for more than one day.

Rishabh Pant was hurt in the recent Anderson-Tendulkar series in England. After this, England fast bowler Chris Woakes was also injured. According to the rules, a player can be replaced only when the injury is in the head. This is called Convention Replacement. This rule is applicable in international cricket. However, BCCI has decided to allow replacement in the rest of the injury for domestic cricket in India.
