The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the annual Central Contract of women players. 16 players have been included in the Central Contract declared from 1 October 2024 to 30 September 2025. Last time 17 players were included in the Central Contract.

Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana and Deepti Sharma have been retained in Grade A.

Less players in grade B compared to last time

Last time, 10 players in Group B were included in the Contract List released from 1 October 2023 to 30 September 2024. This time, only 4 players have been given a place in Group B in the list released. It includes Renuka Thakur, Jemima Rodriguez, Richa Ghosh and Shefali Verma.

Women got an agreement in 2015

In 2015, women cricketers got the contract for the first time. Then there were 15 lakhs in Grade A and 10 lakhs in B. Then male cricketers used to get one crore in A grade, 50 lakhs in B and 30 lakhs in C. Grade C joined the women’s category in 2018.

Women cricketers get 50 lakhs in Grade A, 30 in B, 10 lakhs in C. At the same time, men get 7 crores in A+, 5 crores in A, 3 crores in B, one crore in C.

Match fees are equal, separate in central contract BCCI announced equal match fees to men and women in 2022, but the Annual Central Contract is different. Men’s contract has 4, while women have 3 categories. Even more surprising is that the amount that A grade women get to women cricketers is less than C grade male cricketers.

Understand this with an example

Actually, A grade players get 50 lakh rupees annually in women. On the other hand, the players involved in the men’s C grade get one crore rupees. In simple language, despite the grade elevated, women get half the money compared to male cricketers.

In women, B grade players get 30 lakhs and C grade players get 10 lakh rupees. The top four categories of men are A+ grade. The players involved get 7 crores. A grade players get 5 crore, B grade players get 3 crore and C grade players get one crore rupees. ,
